As a Leeds United supporter I can't let today go by without mentioning two of our own fans Christopher Loftus and Kevin speight. It was eight years ago today 5th April 2000 that these lads went to Instanbul to support our team in a European Semi-Final and never returned to their families.
It was the night before the match when Leeds supporters were attacked by the Scum parading as Galaterassary Fans armed with knives, machetes & Iron Bars. Chris & Kev were attacked while innocently waiting for a taxi in the city centre and both died of multiple stab wounds. Many other fans were injured on that night of shame.
I never knew either lad personally but every Leeds fan will have their families in their thoughts today, hopfully the team playing at Orient will wear black armbands in a mark of respect.
The following YouTube video by a Leeds fan is a tribute to the memory of these two loyal fans please give a couple of minutes of your time these were just lads supporting their team :-

8 years ago, it's hard to believe isn't it? The whole thing was an absolute disgrace. I know one thing, if that had happened in England, our teams would have been banned from playing in Europe for God knows how long.
Wherever Kevin and Christopher are now, at least they saw a good win from the lads today.
Yes we seem to be getting our form back just at the right time.
Apparently our arbitration meeting is 14th April, wouldn't it be nice if we got all our points back.
It would be smashing to get all out points back. I reckon we may get 5. With the penalty being 10 for going into administration, and we all know the points deducted at the end of last season made no difference whatsoever. So they take the 10 off us this season, which you could argue is fair. Then give us the 5 back. I think that would stop a few whingers at other clubs.
What are your thoughts about them taking the commentaries off Radio Leeds Mick? It's a staple thing for me amd the Hubster, every Saturday. We do have a DAB radio, but have you heard their commentary?? Good grief!
(Here endeth the sermon!)
Wow, what a horrible thing to happen. To me, sports should be fun, good natured rivalry. As a Red Sox fan, I love to argue and antagonize Yankee fans, but I could never let it spiral to violence. It is just sick that there are people out there that would do such a thing in the name of sports.
Airlie,
Have you seen the bookies odds on our points back, they are slightly favouring 6 to 10 points.

Whatever I have a lovely warm feeling Lord HawHaw will end up with egg on his face.
Jenny,
I agree it is horrific, I'm afraid English fans must take some of the blame. A big gang culture built up around soccer in the 70's & 80's and although it isn't bad in England now(there are flare ups in certain matches but its now a safe sport). Trouble his other countries have copied the English gangs and its a knock on effect, I also believe the Muslim/Christian situation was partly to blame.
