Weigh in Wednesday - Time for action

Another blank week on the weight loss front as led med to do some thinking and I've decide its time for action, I need to throw down some rules to stick to.

Results of week 6 :-
Start Weight - 224lb
Weight last week - 219lb
Weight this week - 219lb
Target weight - 203lb
loss/gain in week - 0lb
loss %  against target - 23.8%

So as August starts on Monday I'm going to get tough with myself so here are the rules I will stick to through August :-

1. Alcohol limited to 14 units (7 pints) per week.
2. No Chocolate, sweets, biscuits or cake (even as a treat)
3. No Cheese (and I'm a cheese addict)
4. No eating at all after 6pm.

Seriously they may seem normal but I've been slack and not following these rules as I should for various reasons, been eating out a lot for one.

Been also thinking why I want to lose weight for motivation purposes and come up with this list :-
1. Look better (only fair I make effort for G/F if not for myself)
2. Feel Better/fitter
3. Will get less gout attacks (been iffy lately)
4. Live longer (makes senses)
5. Improve at my sports
6. Improve sex drive (you never know, lol).

Yep time for action.

Crap Food

Been away at the weekend was playing in a TT tournament in Leicestershire, was drawn in a tough section and didn't perform my best which was a dissapointment but these things happen.

Paula came with me and we got a good two night deal at the Leicester Hilton, the hotel and staff were excellent as was the Beakfasts which is always a bonus.

Anyway some TT friends invited us to join them for a Pub meal on Saturday night and after it been bulled up by them (they'd been the previous year) it turned out a disaster. The Pub called "The Blue Pig" was nice enough, sort of old fashioned . http://www.thebluepigpub.co.uk/
Anyway there was 7 of us and we ordered our food which then took well over an hour to arrive, 3 of the 7 meals turned out a disaster including Paulas and myself. Paula went for the sirloin steak medium rare which came medium well for starters. She also ordered Peppercorn Sauce which initially didn't arrive until we asked, she poured some on her steak and then tasted, it tasted of washing up liquid. Told the manager and he took it away and offered to cook another steak, told him as everyone had got their food we weren't waiting another hour +. So he offered to half the cost which we accepted and Paula scraped the sauce off her steak. Then she found the steak was full of grissle, it was more like frying steak than sirloin.
My own meal was a mixed grill which looked good when it arrived but soon as I started to cut into the various meats it became apparent they were all of the cheapest cuts, in fact more fat than meat which was inedible.
Another Lady in our group also had issues with her food and raised the issue with the waittress who just laughed as though it was some kind of joke which went down like a lead balloon.
Wasn't just us as we heard another table complaining about their food, it really was that bad.

One thing for sure we wont be eating there again.

Weigh in Wednesday - Happy with result

I'm happy to report a 2lb loss this week because I didn't expect it, had a heavy night out on Saturday and probably drunk too much and exercise hasn't been great due to my gout.

Stayed at Paula over the weekend and after a day out at Brimham rocks a local beauty spot we decide to head into the City. We first went for a meal then chilled over a steady drink, the races had been on and Pubs soon started to fill with hoards of people. I knew some of the lads from my local were in town so we got in touch with them and met up. One thing led to another and we all had too much but hell these things happen and we all had a good laugh.

Anyway back to the weight loss, I'm hoping to continue the progress as the exercise will increase as my gout as all but cleared up which a relief. Sadly Paula is still struggling with her hamstring and is getting frustrated about it, its not too bad when she gets moving but if she sits for any period its really hard t get going again. Its tough helping all I can do is try cheer her up and a few hugs.

I'm away playing TT in Leicestershire this weekend and Paula is coming along so hopfully she can rest her leg while watching me run about the court like a headless chicken, lol. Its a National ranking event for veterans so will be some very tough matches (still maybe sweat a few pounds out). We are staing over Friday and Saturday night so it'll be good to get another weekend together.
Results of week 4 :-
Start Weight - 224lb
Weight last week - 221lb
Weight this week - 219lb
Target weight - 203lb
loss/gain in week - -2lb
loss %  against target - 23.8%

Easier said than done

Since Mum passed away I've promised Dad I would go through her belongings and get rid of things but I'm finding it difficult to motivate myself to do it. Its my intention to donate most of her clothes to local charity shops, seems the right thing to do.
Trouble is I keep avoiding the job, its as though part of me doesn't want to say goodbye.

Did sort her jewerlry out because she always promised a gold necklace to one of my cousins, actually took it to her on Sunday, had a ride out to North Wales where she lives. Paula came with me and my cousin cooked us a nice sunday lunch.

Weigh in Wednesday - Its getting boring

This weight loss campaign is getting boring to write about, for the third week running I have a solitary one pound loss to report, suppose its consistant if nothing else. Still would love to tell you about a 4 or 5 pound loss or an occasional failure so you can all kick start me again.
Still should be pleased a loss is a loss right.
So results of week 3 :-
Start Weight - 224lb
Weight last week - 222lb
Weight this week - 221lb
Target weight - 203lb
loss/gain in week - 1lb
loss %  against target - 14.3%

Went out to a wine evening on Saturday it was organised by the local social club and 9 couples from my table tennis club attended including Paula and myself. First time they've all met her and a few have mentioned how nice she is. The evening went well but did include a 5 course meal which was good but not diet friendly.

In a couple weeks we are off to see Blondie at York race course, really looking forward to it as I was a big fan back in day. Of course all us young men had a crush on Debbie Harry (hell she's 66 years old now can you believe it) but actually the group was good had some great hits, were very popular in the UK. In fact I believe when it comes to number one hits (6 in total) the only american acts to have more in the UK chart are Elvis & Madonna (who ain't in Debbies league).

So reckon I'll finish with some Blondie clips :-
