Weight Loss Challenge -

Happy with my result this week as I've lost 4lb which takes me to 11lb lost in 4 weeks, thats half what I'm aiming for. I knew it would be a good week, haven't touched a drop of beer and been eating well (lots of salads). Although I'm happy with the weight loss its a double wammy because I got a bad gout attack, getting down to a reasonable weight will eventually help limit attacks but it appears as I drop it can bring on a attack.
On the other hand I know what I eat can help long term so it keeps myenthusiasm to keep going. Actually been to the Docs this morning and I've to go to the hospital for a blood test then we'll discuss where we go from here.

Reg reports a good weigh in losin 2.5lb taking her to 3lb total loss which is 50% of her target, well done.

Mick - start weight 222lb - todays weight - 211lb - target loss 22lb - loss this week 4lb (18%) - total loss 11lb ( 50%).

M - start weight 163lb - todays weight -?lb - target loss 9lb - loss this week -?lb (?%) - total loss so far ?lb (?%)

Reg - start weight 131lb - todays weight - 128lb - target loss 6lb - loss this week 2.5lb (+42%) - total loss so far - 3lb (50%)

Got to mention well done England in reaching the last 8 of the Euros bring on Italy on Sunday. While on the subject of Football its looking like the investment rumours in Leeds United are correct, all of a sudden we have started buying players, decent ones at that.

Weigh in Wednesday - Disappointed but not surprised

Its now 9 weeks into my latest weight loss campaign and I'm disappointed to say for the first time I'm actually recording a gain, only one pound but a gain. Last week I was bang on my 1lb per week target but with the target coming down 1lb and me gaining 1lb I'm now 2lb's above where I should be.
As the title says I'm not surprised as I was away at the weekend for 3 nights and eating out all the time took me away from my normal food intake. I met up with the lady i got on well with on holiday, we got on well but not sure where it will lead have to wait and see on that one.
As for the food intake it was big cooked breakfasts and restaurant dinners. For the record first night I had Roast Belly Pork with the trimmings folowed by sticky toffee pudding (very nice). 2nd night it was a large mixed grill but no sweet while the 3rd night it was Steak followed by lemon cheesecake, so they you have it I've been a naughty boy.

Also with the christmas/new year period I haven't exercised as much as normal so reckon now ctch up time starts. Actually training at table tennis tonight, got a doubles competition thursday night and am playing national league on sunday, that lot should get me back in the swing of things.

Here is the facts :-

Start Weight (9th Nov) - 238lb
Weight last week - 230lb
Weight Today - 231lb
Gain/Loss this week - +1lb
Gain/Loss from start - -7lb
Todays Target - 229lb
+/- Target - +2lb

Been thinking about this years holidays and booking something but to prove to myself I'm serious about the weight loss. I've decided not to book until I'm back on target, hopfully by next week(the target will be 228lb so I need a 3lb loss this week) but if not sooner rather than later. Anyway I'm using holidays as a incentive simple as that.

One good point was I took my black jeans this weekend and they were comfy enough to wear, they were too tight back in November at the start of my weight loss campaign.

Also can't leave todays post without mentioning last weekends football, my team Leeds United had a great result away at Arsenal in the FA Cup. Ok it was a 1-1 draw but there is a full division between the sides and they were expected to hammer us. In fact we were 4 minutes away from winning when they equalised with a penalty.
Massive turnout by our fans travelling to London creating a fantasic atmosphere at a ground normally nicknamed "the library" beause of its lack of noise.
So they've got to come up to ER next wednesday, it'll be tough but backed by a packed stadium the place will be bouncing and the team may just pull it off.

Anyway here is the Leeds goal and celebrations from thousands of Yorkshire folk in London :-

Never to be forgotten

As a Leeds United supporter I can't let today go by without mentioning two of our own fans Christopher Loftus and Kevin speight. It was eight years ago today 5th April 2000 that these lads went to Instanbul to support our team in a European Semi-Final and never returned to their families.
It was the night before the match when Leeds supporters were attacked by the Scum parading as Galaterassary Fans armed with knives, machetes & Iron Bars. Chris & Kev were attacked while innocently waiting for a taxi in the city centre and both died of multiple stab wounds. Many other fans were injured on that night of shame.

I never knew either lad personally but every Leeds fan will have their families in their thoughts today, hopfully the team playing at Orient will wear black armbands in a mark of respect.

The following YouTube video by a Leeds fan is a tribute to the memory of these two loyal fans please give a couple of minutes of your time these were just lads supporting their team :-

Footballs European authorities should also still hang their heads in shame because despite the deaths they forced Leeds to play the match when clearly everyone just wanted to come home.
I'm not trying to claim Leeds fans are angels we've had our fair share of trouble and been punished for it, to me Clubs from certain countries have been allowed to get away with it in the past thats why it spiraled to murder, UEFA & the Turkish Police should hang their heads in shame.
the Leeds fans that made it to the stadium showed on that night their disgust by turning their backs on proceedings.

RIP - Kevin & Christopher Leeds fans will never forget.
