Since the new year I reckon I've been quite good with my food (& drink) intake but hell did I blow it this last few days.
As you know I've been away for a few days and that is always the dangerous time for me when trying to lose weight. Sure I'd like to tell you about spending time in the hotel Gym or Swimming Pool but I didn't so I wont.
In fact I travelled south last Wednesday initially to see Janes parents which was nice, her Mum made me a meal when I arrived and spoilt me by offering me some Stawberry Cheesecake for afters, it would have been rude to refuse wouldn't it ?
Thursday they took me to Janes grave where I laid some flowers, its a nice spot in a well maintained cemetry, still hated having to be there wish things were so different and she was still here.
Thursday evening we met up with Janes brother and his girlfiend with their young son and the 6 of us went to a Pub called the "New Clock Inn" for a meal.
Well I couldn't resist the mixed grill and to be honest it was great, trouble is it was called "The Mammoth Grill" and they weren't kidding, Steak, Gammon, Pineapple, 12" Sausage, 2* Chicken breasts, Chips, Mushrooms, Tomato, Peas, etc. Now this leads me to my problem that whatever is on my plate I tend to eat, I'm not noted for leaving stuff so usually try watch my portions. So as always I cleared the plate and was completely bloated, especially after washing it down with a few pints.
Friday afternoon I left to go to Swindon where I was playing TT at the weekend meeting my team mates at our hotel. Of course we met up in the hotel bar before going on to a Al-a-carte 3 course meal in the hotel restaurant, yes starters & pudding as well were consumed.
Saturday following a full cooked breakfast (one of them help yourself jobs) we went to the venue and had a iffy day losing our two opening matches but managed a draw in the last match. Realisticly it wasn't that bad because we were playing teams expected to beat us, we only got promotion last season so our main aim was avoiding relegation and our must win games were scheduled Sunday.
Saturday night we went to a beefeater Pub near the hotel where for my sins I had another mixed grill (ok I luv mixed grills) before having a few drinks first in the Pub then the hotel bar until 2.30am (real athletes right, lol).
After a few hours sleep it was up for another breakfast before playing our two key matches. The good news is we won them both 5-1 so are safely in this same division next season. Finished playing about 3pm then it was the long drive home, was really knackered when I got home.
However no rest because last night I had a Pool match so it was more booze and "sods law" the landlady of the Pub we were playing put on a lovely spread of sandwichs, Pork Pies, Sausage Rolls, etc. Lets face it once you start on Cheese & Onion sarnies(to which I'm addicted) its hard to stop.
Ok the good news is I'm now back into my regular eating routine following the last few days blow out so hopfully any damage will be minimal. Actually got a TT match tonight in York league so a bit of exercise is a good thing.
Tomorrow night I'm looking forward to the FA Cup replay, Leeds are playing Premiership Tottenham Hotspurs at home, not expected to win against a team 2 divisions higher but anything can happen they have done us fans proud so far and the stadium will be rocking.
Should mention my laptop arrived just before I went away haven't had much chance for a play on it but I've started the wheels moving to change to a new internet provider.

It's a real problem when our social lives revolve around pubs. It's the same here in Australia. It's hard to find a happy medium, especialy when we just want to cut loose and not have to worry about watching what we eat for a night [or 4]. I do the same thing so i can't offer any advice, just point out the obvious apparently lol

Just about all social activities involve sticking something in our gobs to eat - boohoo!

Eating and playing and having a good time, that's what it's all about. Even so, it's major good that you've gotten on track before hitting the 400 lb. mark or its equivalence in stones.
