Another Busy Day
Got back home at about 11.30am and decided to cut the lawn as the weather was nice and it was looking a bit long.
After that just had a light lunch then off to York to see my Dad in hospital. Got home about 3.30 pm so made myself a Cup of Coffee and watched a bit of sport on the TV. Just had my dinner so here I am, time to relax I think.
2. Weight Loss/Fitness - I suppose cutting the lawn was good exercise pushing that stupid lawn mower of mine.
As for Food intake :-
Breakfast - 2*Weetabix, 1/2 portion Strawberries, 1/2 portion Blueberries, 1/2pint Orange Juice
Mid Morning - Apple
Lunch - Soup (Italian Chicken, Tomato & Red Peppers), slice of bread.
Mid Afternoon - Coffee & 2 biscuits
Dinner - Baccon, Spicy Wedges, Baked Beans, Grilled Tomato, Slice Bread.
Supper - Glass of Milk.
All drinks throughout the day other than those mentioned have been water.
3. Music Choice - For todays song I'm going for Mott the Hoople one of the most underrated groups of the seventies with a song I really like "Ballad of Mott".

All Rush
Then it was onto York to visit my father in hospital I grabbed a Sandwich on route for my lunch. He's had his operation and talking to the head nurse they seem pleased with his progress so far. In fact they are talking about him coming home as early as Monday. Sure I'll have to look after him, get his meals and such but its far better than commuting to the far side of York every day.
Got home had my dinner, got showered ready for going out, I'm back to York tonight this time with a few old workmates for a few drinks. Gotta catch the 6.45pm bus.
2. Weight Loss/fitness - No exercise today, no time.
As for Food intake :-
Breakfast - 2*Weetabix, 1/2 portion Strawberries, 1/2 portion Blueberries, Banana, 1/2pint Orange Juice
Lunch - Beef & Onion Sandwich, Diet Pepsi.
Dinner - Roast Pork, Roast Potatos, Parsnips, Sprouts, Broccoli, Peas & Carrots, Glass of Milk.
Supper - Night Out, a few beers.
All drinks throughout the day other than those mentioned have been water.
3. Car Fuel - Why are we p****d off with the cost of fuel for our cars, well a newspaper today publish what we as a country pay for fuel & what we pay at the Pumps. The facts are because of North Sea Oil supplementing our imports our country pays LESS per gallon than the rest of Europe. However when our government adds their tax we pay MORE than everyone else at the Pumps.
As for my American friends who worry about their costs, you don't know you are born.
Examples (in pence per gallon) -
UK - price before tax 48.8p after tax 116.6p
Sweden - before 51.9p after 109p
Germany - before 51.9p after 106.5p
France - before 51.8p after 102.8p
Austria - before 52.2p after 99.7p
Denmark - before 55.4p after 105.8p
Ireland - before 50.3p after 96.4p
We are been truly screwed.
4. Music Choice - A bit of CCR (Creedance Clearwater Revival) today with a song to me that just makes you feel happy "Lookin out my back door"

A Life of Visiting
Anyway we got him booked in and he was taken to his room, it was like a hotel room. I'll point out although he is a National Health patient due to waiting lists he's been done in a brand new Bupa Hospital.
The Lady who showed us his room and where everything was left us to unpack his stuff, no sooner had she gone but another Lady appeared asking what meals he would like. The choice was amazing, the menu would put some 5* restaurants to shame.
Next it was a nurse who checked is blood pressure and told him he was going to theatre first at 8.30am so the started to get him ready.
I was about to leave at about 8.20am but had to laugh when my Dad asked if I thought it would be safe to leave his money in the drawer in his room, me thinking he had only a bit of change said yes fine. So out of his pocket he pulled some notes, £100 in total, don't know where he thought he was going. We decided it would be best if I took it home, left him with £10.
I got home did some shopping then it was to the Care home my Mum is staying at to see how her first night had gone. I went in the morning cos I thought others may visit in the afternoon. Anyway when I arrived she had a visitor, one of her friends had called for a chat so I joined them in a chat. Shortly after one of my cousins arrived she had the same idea and assumed everyone would visit in the afternoon.
To cut a long story short she seems happy with the place and has settled in ok, although she nearly murdered another guest this morning. She gave a frail looking bloke called Fred one of her fruit sherberts this morning and I don't think he was expecting the sherbert in the middle cos it set him off on a coughing fit, he was ok though she'll probably give him another tomorrow just for the hell of it.
I mentioned her knowing a lot of the staff but I met the Chef today and he used to play TT with me about 25 years ago, its a small world.
2. Table Tennis - Tonight is the local league (Selby) presentation evening, its only a small league and we don't really have enough people interested for a Dinner/Dance so we make it a Quiz night between the various teams. Its proving real popular since we did this and for my crimes I've got the task of setting the questions. Following the Quiz we have a buffet so I'll have to watch what I eat. Then of course the presentation and I've two trophys to pick up, the Mens & Veterans Singles.
I won't be drinking tonight, gonna go in the car, two reasons, obviously my gout but I've another night out with old workmates in York tomorrow so don't want to overdo things.
3. Weight Loss/Fitness - My ankle is a bit sore, I had planned to cut the lawn today but I'm gonna rest it, I'll only make it worse if I try do too much on it, need to keep my foot up when I can.
As for Food intake :-
Breakfast - 2*Weetabix, 1/2 portion Strawberries, 1/2 portion Blueberries, 1/2pint Orange Juice
Lunch - Tomato Soup, 2*Slice of Bread
Dinner - Jacket Potato & Baked beans.
Supper - Depends on the TT Buffet and I'll probably drink still orange.
All drinks throughout the day other than those mentioned have been water.
4. Music Choice - For today and I know it isn't Monday but I'm going for the Blues Classic "Stormy Monday", this excellent version is by Albert King & Stevie Ray Vaughan, now thats what I call talent.

To the Care Home
Anyway when we got her there she was happy cos she knew a lot of the staff, the home is on the estate where we lived when I was a child, the place I grew up. In fact I think half the staff was at school with me. They all come to greet her and there was a cup of tea with biscuits waiting they certainly was trying to make her feel at home, I'm sure she will soon settle.
In the morning I'm taking my Dad to the hospital in York for his operation, we need to be there at 7.30am so will leave at about 6.30am. When I've left him there I'll go visit my Mum to see if she is ok and if she needs anything.
2. Gout - My ankle is still a bit sore and last night when I went to bed I also got a pain in my Knee, it was bad I couldn't get comfy and at about 1am had to get up and take some pain killers. Fortunately the Knee seems ok today but with gout you just can't tell what joint it will attack.
3. Weight Loss - Again a day without exercise due to settling my Mum in, Gout & heavy rain but I've eaten ok today.
My food intake for today was :
Breakfast - 2*Weetabix, 1/2 portion Strawberries, 1/2 portion Blueberries, 1/2pint Orange Juice
Lunch - Vegetable Sup, Slice of Bread
Mid afternoon - Coffee, 2 biscuits.
Dinner - Salad (Lettuce, Ham, Tomato, Spring Onion, Celery, Radish), slice of bread.
Supper - Glass of Milk + maybe a Cracker if I'm hungry
All drinks throughout the day other than those mentioned have been water.
4. Music Choice - A 1972 classic from the Rolling Stones for today "Sweet Virginia", great song, great group, great performance.

Nice Meal - Ok I forgot the diet
Anyway his appointment was at 11.15am so we set off at 10.15am not quite sure how long it would take in the morning traffic. However it was a good journey and we booked in at early 11am and got a Coffee each from the machine in the waiting area. No sooner had we sat down than the nurse came for him, he hadn't even touched his coffee, off he went and was back in minutes actually done before his appointment was due.
On the way home we decided to stop for a meal at a village Pub, I did go in with good intentions of having something light. However you know what its like when you read the menu, it makes you hungry. So been a meat eater I went for the mixed Grill, my Dad went for Lamb which was on the specials board.
Anyway when the Mixed Grill came it was on a massive plate and they couldn't even fit the Chips (fries) on, they came on a side dish. It contained, Steak, Pork Chop, Lamb Chop, Sausage, Gammon, Black Pudding, Mushrooms, Peas, Tomato, Carrots, Turnip & Runner Beans. Hell it was a battle but I ate it all, only had one pint to wash it down though.
2. Gout & Pool - I was pleased this morning when I got up that my gout appears to be clearing up, ok it still hurts a bit but some of the swelling as gone and the pain is much less, I'm sure its on the mend.
I had a Pool match last night and it was agony to go, I didn't want to let the team down cos I knew of others unavailable and thought we could be short. I normally walk and have a few beers but last night I had to go in the car and just drank Orange & Water, I managed to win my singles but cocked up my doubles, the team won though so that was good. It was our last match this season and we've gone up to the top division.
3. Weight Loss/Fitness - Well with the Gout & Hospital visit other than a few sit ups this morning my exercise has been nil. I wouldn't have got my long walk in anyway as the weather is aweful, its cold with wind & rain I reckon winter has returned today. As I've been on my computor now we've had a few power dips, sure its the weather causing it cos we have so many overhead lines around here. At least work wont be calling me, I always got call outs when it was like this.
And yes I nearly forgot my food intake for today was :
Breakfast - 2*Weetabix, 1/2 portion Strawberries, 1/2 portion Blueberries, 1/2pint Orange Juice
Mid Morning - Coffee
Lunch - Mixed Grill (see above)
Mid afternoon - Coffee, 2 biscuits.
Dinner - Jacket Potato & Spaggetti
Supper - Glass of Milk
All drinks throughout the day other than those mentioned have been water.
4. Music Choice - A absolute superb version of "I Still haven't found what I'm looking for" from U2.

Painful Monday
This morning when I got out of bed I was in pain, I've got an attack of gout in my left ankle, its swollen & inflamed, hurts like hell especially when I put my foot down. Obviously this has stopped any exercise plans for today.
I know I'm prone to gout but in recent times I feel I've controlled it very well be controlling my diet, I feel I normally know what brings it on and avoid.
For the record this is what I find causes it in me :-
1. Weight Gain - I find if I increase weight it increases attacks (at moment I think I'm losing weight but it could be a late reaction from my holiday).
2. Weight Loss - Yes believe it or not weight loss can bring on an attack, however this is if you lose weight too fast. That is why I must always control my weight loss at a steady rate (don't think this is the cause this time).
3. Dehydration - If I get Dehydrated that always seems to bring on a attack, again don't think that has happend here.
4. Wrong Foods - Eating too much of the wrong types of Foods is always a favorite, I have a list (Liver, Kidneys, Oily Fish, Shell Fish, etc). Also too much dairy produce and I'm thinking this is a possible cause this time, on top of my normal intake this week I've been having some low fat cheese spread on a couple of crackers, its not stuff I normally have so am suspicious it could be the cause.
What is Gout ? For those that don't know its hereditery more common in Men then Women, basically your blood gets an imbalance and builds up too much Uric Acid (everyone as small amounts in their blood count). This in turn causes a build up of crystals in the joints which then causes the inflammation.
Some foods help fight it such as Strawberries, Blueberries & Cherries thats why you will always see these in my diet.
2. Weight Loss Fitness -
My Food intake today is :-
Breakfast - 2*Weetabix, 1 portion Strawberries, Blueberries, 1/2pint Orange Juice
Lunch - Rice Pudding with blueberries
Mid afternoon - Coffee, 2 biscuits.
Dinner - Chicken, Potato Wedges, Peas, Carrots, Broccoli, Parsnip.
Evening - Its Monday & that means Pool night so I will be having a few drinks
Supper - Nothing
All drinks throughout the day other than those mentioned have been water.
As for fitness I was unable to do anything due to my gout as explained earlier.
3. Music Choice - Todays Classic Song is Simon & Garfunkal "The Boxer"

Gutted
This is like a kick in the teeth, we have done so well getting to the play off final and todays 1-0 defeat is tough to take. Everyone knows the story, docked 15 points, favorites for relegation, possibly go out of buisness, but we survived and gave ourselves a great chance of promotion only for it to go wrong at the death.
But lets not forget we won more matches than anyone, we packed everyones stadiums for them, we bounced back from the brink, we'll all be back next season, trust me we will be back.
I will say well done to Doncaster and wish them luck next season in the championship but at the end of the day as a Leeds fan I'm totally pissed off.
And the weight loss plan ain't working today, I need to comfort eat.

Soon be Sunday
Breakfast - 2*Weetabix, 1 portion Strawerries, Blueberries, 1/2pint Orange Juice (this is becoming my norm which I feel is a good start to the day
Lunch - Bowl of Oxtail soup, slice of bread.
Mid afternoon - Coffee, 2 biscuits.
Dinner - 1*Low Fat sausage, 3*rashers Bacon (grilled), Tomato, Potato Wedges. Ok not the ideal meal but cant just starve myself and its a meal I enjoy.
Supper - 1/2pint Milk (maybe a cracker with some low fat cheese spread if I'm hungry).
All drinks throughout the day other than those mentioned have been water.
As for fitness I did my 6 mile power walk but must admit it was tough, wearing them trainers yesterday certainly made my heels sore, wont be wearing them again even in my comfy ones today it hurt.
2. The Big Match - By the time I blog tomorrow I'll either be in a good or bad mood, its the play off final for a place in the Championship. I think all my blog readers know what happend to my team Leeds United this season with the authorities docking us 15 points. Up to this season no Club that has been docked points (previous max = 10) as managed to stay up. To reach the play offs is amazing and will go down in the Clubs history I'm sure. Now its time to put the "iceing on the cake" and stick two fingers up to the Football league.
Although tomorrows match is at Wembley (London)our opponents are Doncaster Rovers who are also from Yorkshire. Leeds sold their ticket allocation of 34,000 (and could have sold more than double) but Doncaster only managed 22, 000 and its estimated around 6,000 Leeds fans are in that number which will make a mokery of any segregation.
While talking Footie I see the thickies that support Manure made themselves idiots again in the European Final on wednesday. Did anyone see the banner proclaiming "Scouse free Zone", ok its meant to be funny cos they hate Scousers (people from Liverpool) as much as they hate us. Now it would be funny if their OWN star stiker Wayne Rooney wasn't a scouser, what numptys.
3. Music Choice - Todays Classic song is from the Motown Label and its Martha Reeves and the Vandellas with "Nowhere to Run"

Trying to keep Fit
Breakfast - 2*Weetabix, 1 portion Strawerries, Blueberries, 1/2pint Orange Juice.
Lunch - Bowl of soup, slice of bread. The soup was a new one from heinz "Italian Chicken, Tomato & peppers, very tasty I must say.
Mid afternoon - Coffee, 2 biscuits.
Dinner - (I had a salad) Ham, 1/2 Pork Pie, Lettuce, Tomatos, Spring Onions, Celery, Radish's, Slice Bread.
Evening treat - Pineapple (love them)
Supper - 1/2pint Milk.
All drinks throughout the day other than those mentioned have been water.
As for exercise this morning I went for a six mile power walk but made a error of judgement. The other day when clearing my utility room I found a old pair of trainers, they looked in decent condition so decided to use them for my walk. I now know why they were in the utility room as they really rubbed, my feet are so sore.
No Pain no gain so this afternoon I had a hour on the field with a golf club and balls just hitting backwards and forwards. Its actually decent exercise for the upper body and of course plenty of walking up and down.
I should add now I'm settling into my routine my pulse rate is dropping to normal, I was a touch concerned when it was 78 following a month of abuse on the drinking/eating front through holidays & nights out. Well this morning its actually 74 so I reckon by next week it'll be at its normal 70, I hope so. Eventually I want to up the fitness level and get it under that, I think pulse rate is a decent sign of good health.
2. Visit - My parents have had a visit to discuss what is needed to help my Dad when he comes out of hospital. He will be very limited with his movements for a few weeks and she has been teaching him how to get up out of a chair, out of bed, shower, toilet, etc. Also make sure any furniture is suitable of if any aids are required.
Of course my father got the times wrong and was up town when the nurse arrived, best be assured he got a right rollicking off my Mum.
3. Music Choice - Well for today I'll give you some Classic Rock from the group Steppenwolf and of course its from the sountrack to Easy Rider "Born to be Wild" :-

Not such a great Eating & Exercise Day
Anyway he had his checks but has to go back next tuesday for a blood test, then in for his op next thursday.
Anyway on the way home he insisted that we stopped for a Pub Lunch, ok I didn't need my arm twisting too far up my back but its not good for the diet as I don't usually have much at lunch time.
2. Weight Loss/Fitness -
Well my food intake for today :-
Breakfast - 2*Weetabix, 1/2portion Strawerries, 1/2portion Blueberries, 1/2pint Orange Juice.
Mid Morning - Cup Coffee (no sugar)
Lunch - Gammon, Chips (Fries), Mushroom, Pineapple slice, Peas, Tomato, pint Beer.
Dinner - Jacket Potato, Baked Beans.
Supper - 1/2pint Milk.
All drinks throughout the day other than those mentioned have been water.
As for exercise with taking my father I've only done my morning sit ups.
3. Fuel Prices - This part of my post is for my American friends, for the last few months (or longer) I've heard a lot of you complain about the cost of Fuel, for gasoline to fill up your car I believe you are paying in the region of $3.60 per gallon, correct me if I'm wrong.
Well forgive me if I don't sympaphaise cos I've just topped up my car and todays price £1.25 per litre (tat is up 4p since Monday), change that to gallons thats about £5.65 per gallon, change that to dollars and you are around $11 dollars per gallon. Well somebody has got to pay for Tony Blairs cock ups haven't they.
4. Music Choice - Classic song for today is from 1979 and is Olivers Army by Elvis Costello and the Attractions.

Another Day in My Life
As for food intake I've a confession after writing last nights post I did have a couple of crackers with some low fat cheese before bed, I was starving but must fight it. I think I had my evening meat too early.
Today this is my intake (hopfully I wont give in tonight):-
Morning - 2 weetabix, 1/2 portion Strawberries, 1/2 Portion Blueberries, 1/2 Pint Orange Juice,
Lunch - Bowl of Oxtail Soup, 2 slices of Bread.
Dinner - Two Slices of Pork, Potatoes (Roast), Carrots, Parsnip, Yorkshire Pudding,
Supper - 1/2 pint Milk
All other drinks have been water (I do drink it all the time)
2. Champions League - Tonight is the European Champions League Final and its between 2 English Teams which is a farce in itself. This competition is becoming a money making mokery of the sport with the same Clubs qualifying each year, getting a lot of money, making the rich richer so they can buy all the best players.
First the name of the competition "Champions League" is a joke when up to 4 teams from one country are allowed to compete, obviously with two teams from the same country in the final only one can be the National Champions. In fact some seasons the Final as had two non-champions competing. Funny because before the television people took over it was called the European Cup and only one team "the Champions" from each country took part.
The Final is in Moscow and true will be watched by millions around the world, its between the two Clubs I hate the most Manchester United and Chelsea. Scumchester as I call them are just a media obsessed buisness more interested in selling shirts in the far east than doing anything for the game of soccer, true they have a massive fan base made up mainly of Bandwagon jumping numptys that no nowt about Footie or corporate organisations that think its good to take their customers to the prawn sandwich restaurant. As for Chelski they are just a Russian Billionaires play thing, they think its good cos he bails them out, they just buy new players attracting the best with high salaries. Well Glory Hunting Chelski fans wait while he gets bored and you crash big style.
Neither Club are a benefit to the English Game in fact they are making it non competitive just buying everyones best players because they are the richest, in a way you can't blame them but it doesn't make it right.
So who am I supporting tonight, well reckon I'll go with Chelski cos I hate them slightly less.
3. Music - Tonights offering "The Dempseys", this is a promotional video of a group I saw in Memphis back in 2005. They are a rockabilly trio and are absolutely awesome live but only seem to play around tennessee. If ever you are in Memphis or Nashville check these boys out, the are pure entertainment.

When I got home the exercise didn't stop cos I decided to cut the lawn it looks good even though I say it myself.
Food intake today -
2 weetabix
1/2 portion Strawberries
1/2 Portion Blueberries
1/2 Pint Orange Juice
Pint of Shandy
Apple
Chicken
Potatoes (Roast)
Carrots
Parsnip
2 * Onion Rings
Cup of Coffee
2 Biscuits
Not sure how many calories that adds up to but maybe somebody could tell me (I am cutting back honest).
2. Pool - Gotta mention last nights Pool match cos we won 6-3 which has won the team our league. Its actually the 2nd division so we'll be promoted to the top division next season. We've done well cos we still have a game to play so will end up winning by quite a large margin. We have been unbeaten in the 2nd half of the season in fact last nights opponents were the last to beat us so it was sweet revenge.
3. Sports Stars - I've just noticed on the news that Newcastle Footballer Joey Barton has been jailed for assault, now this is one of the most promising midfielders in England who should have had a big international future.
Joey Barton
We hear of incidents like this all the time, there always seems to be a few numptys about in Sport. Why do these people get themselves involved in embarrasing situations, they are very well paid and are a disgrace to their sport.
What do you think ?
4. Music - Well for todays Music Choice I'm going with Rod Stewart "Handbags & Gladrags"

My Weekend
So here I go :-
1. Fitness/Weight Loss - I mentioned in my last post I've had a hectic few weeks with holidays, weekends away, nights out, etc. Hence I've put on weight and feel unfit with all the excessive eating & drinking so now its fight back time.
Well as for exercise first thing today I've started doing sit-ups (gotta flatten the Belly), I did 30 this morning and hope to increase this in the coming weeks. I also did my 6 mile walk after breakfast for most of it I tried to keep a good pace going I think thats important.
I also took my Pulse rate (rested) this morning cos I reckon thats a guide to fitness, it was high (78) and I know its normally around (70) so I hope to see this improve in the coming weeks.
As for Food/Drink this is it today :-
8am Breakfast - 1 pint water, 2 weetabix, Blueberries & Strawberries, 1/2 pint Orange Juice.
This is actually my normal breakfast except its usually 3 weetabix not 2.
12noon Lunch - Bacon sandwich (grilled), Water to drink, ok not great but had some in the fridge and wanted to use it up.
2.30pm - Cup of Coffe & 2 biscuits as a treat (usually have 3 biscuits)
5pm Dinner - Not had it yet but will be having, Chicken, Roast Potato (small portion), Carrots, Parsnip, Broccolli & Sprouts.
Tonight is a problem cos Monday is my Pool match and I'm not giving that up, I've decided I'm going down to the Pub 30 mins later than normal so I will have a pint less, I'll also be walking the mile+ each way to the Pub.
2. My weekend - As most of you know I was away in Slough this weekend, I went to watch our Table Tennis Clubs 1st team who were in the play offs to qualify for the National Prem Division. The top 2 teams in each of the three regionalised 1st divisions met in all play all competition with the top two getting promoted.
Some of the action was fantastic as there wasn't much between the teams, Our Club had a fantastic Saturday winning two matches 6-2 against Reading and Brighton, there other Match was a draw against Nottingham and the points they gained made them overnight leaders, and talk of reaching the Prem was rife.
However Sunday wasn't good as they lost their last two matches against Northampton & a London Club both by the narrowest margin 5-3 and ended up finishing 3rd and just missing out. Perhaps it was bad luck, nerves I don't now, I also feel been top Saturday actually put more pressure on the players and some looked tired, perhaps we need a strong reserve that can come in so key players get a rest, we will look into that. We went with the same four players (our strongest team) in each match but 10 tough singles is physically hard and I'm sure it effected us.
Not to Worry, no point dwelling on the results gotta prepare for next season.
3. Meeting a online Friend - During my trip to Slough I'd arranged to meet up over a meal with one of my online friends from MySpace called Jane, Origionally Jane was going to meet me in Slough but when I got there Friday night I wasn't impressed so decided it would be better we met in Windsor which was a very short train ride, lukily my hotel was right next to the Station.
Prior to setting off I had given Jane my phone number in case she had a problem, to be honest I alway wondered whether she might get cold feel as she seems slightly shy a quiet sort of person.
Anyway she texted Saturday morning to give me her phone number in case I couldn't make it, so I then knew she was serious about meeting, must admit I was pleased.
Anyway I suggested meeting at Windsor Railway Station, Jane suggested 7.30pm and that was ideal for me so the time & place was set. Did I also mention I was also impressed with the effort Jane was making cos it wasn't like she lived local she actually had a one hour+ drive.
My train arrived shortly before the meet up time but 7.30pm came and Jane texted saying she was slightly late but would be there soon, Her problem was finding somewhere to park so I didn't mind.
Eventually we met and as she walked towards the station I regognised her straight away as she did me. Now this is always a problem moment, my natural instincts is to give them a hug but I've been corrected on that one before (thanks Regina), so I played on the side of caution and went for the hand shake. Actually later Jane said she would have been ok with the hug but I reckon if not sure you don't want to blow it straight away.
We chatted as we walked towards the bars & restaurants and eventually decided to go in a big Pub which had a dinning area upstairs, we found a table by a window overlooking Windsor Castle. I ordered Ribeye Steak and Jane went for the Sirloin.
As we ate we chatted a lot, we seemed to get on, we talked about our MySpace friends, we talked about each other our strengths & weaknesses, we talked about allsorts which was good cos them ackward silences are no fun, we seemed comfortable with each other.
For the record I found out Jane is a real down to earth person and got a smashing personality. She as got a pretty face but her biggest assett is a cute smile, I am a sucker for a nice smile I must be honest. I will had Jane smiled a lot virtually all the ime, that pleased me cos it gave the signal she was comfortable with my company.
Anyway as this was a first meeting I fully expected us to have a meal maybe a drink at Jane to make her way home. In fact I'd told my friends that I'd come down with I'd catch up with them sometime after 10pm. However we just stayed a talked, time just flew by, I couldn't believe how fast my watch was spinning round it got to gone 11pm and I mentioned the last train to Slough was 11.30pm but Jane said no problem she could drop me off.
Eventually we were the last two people in the dinning room and the staff asked us if we minded moving downstairs to the bar so we did and carried on with our conversation despite competing with some very loud music. Jane asked a lot about my holidays and I'm sure she was dropping hints that she'd love to come sometime in the future when she gets to know me better.
She also took a photo of me with her camera phone and didn't let her off the hook, I got one of the staff to take one of us both together.
Eventually we did leave (think it was getting towards 1am) and Jane gave me a lift to my hotel as she promised. When we pulled up to say our goodbyes I asked if she minded if I gave her a goodnight kiss, I was pleased she said yes so I gave her a little peck. To be honest I then felt I wanted to give her a proper kiss and sort of hoped she might take a lead there, it didn't happen. I fought the urge because I didn't want to spoil what had been a good night that I'd really enjoyed, I wasn't sure what reaction I'd have got so played it safe. I've come to the conclusion its harder to be a total flirt with someone you like.
So thats it apart from when I got in my hotel a couple of my friends were in the bar so I stayed up and had a couple more drinks before retiring.
Just to answer the question before asked -
Will we meet again ? We did talk about it and I think there is a good chance it will happen.
4. Music - For all the music fans that read my blog I intend to post songs on a regular basis so here is the classic Bob Dylan track "Like a Rolling Stone".

My Updates
Although I've been home a week I've not really started the fightback, I've eaten ok but I've had a couple of big nights out which wont have helped. I'm afraid I'm gonna have to go to the Pub tonight to watch the 2nd leg of Leeds play off semi-final, this is so important, ok we are 2-1 down but as allways I'm optimistic. I'm also away this weekend, off to Slough (its near London) as my Table Tennis Clubs first team are in the National Play Offs and a few of us are off to support them. I'm sure we wont be eating too well and a few beers will be flowing.
Anyway I've decided I'm gonna put my weight loss plan in place next week which will include what I eat and what exercise I'll be doing. To be honest I accept I've never been a thin person but I do like to feel fit if that makes sense.
I'm actually looking forward to this weekend away for more than one reason, I'm actually gonna be meeting (I hope) one of my online friends. We have arranged to meet on Saturday night and will be going for a meal. The lady concerned is actually a friend from MySpace, we message a lot and talk on IM, we seem to get on well and I'm really looking forward to the meeting. She is a lovely person and I'll have to make sure I'm on my best behaviour.
I've been busy at home sorting out a few things in the garden and yesterday I sorted out the shed, to be honest it took all day it was so full of junk. I took two car loads of rubbish to the skips, it certainly looks different now, you can actually find things.
In two weeks time my father has to go into hospital for a hip operation so I'll have to do a lot of his fetching and carrying for a few weeks when he gets home. He normally acts as a carer for my mother who is disabled and she is going into a care home for 3 or 4 weeks while he gets back up to speed. The irritating thing about it is she will have to pay a significant amount of money for the pleasure because she as savings. My parents arn't rich both worked all their lives and because they saved a little it is taken off them. Others can not pay anything in the system and claim all these benefits for nothing, something is wrong in my eyes.
We did look at the possibility of me looking after her with assistance of a home nurse to get her up in the morning and put her to bed (two one hour visits which would cost us anyway) but she can't be left alone for long periods and if I'm visiting my father in hospital (which is 40 minutes drive away) I can't be in two places at the same time. Still whatever it costs as long as she gets looked after properley thats the main thing.

Big Night Tonight - 15pwgafwaslawagu
We started this season at the lowest point in the Clubs history, the club had just been relegated to the 3rd flight in English Soccer for the first time, we had been bankrupt, we were within 12 hours for going out of buisness, most of our players had moved on, it looked grim.
Then prior to the season it was unclear whether we would be allowed to compete, the Football authorities seemed to be kicking us when we were down, just to make it impossible they decided to deduct us 15 points football was now an handicap competition. No team in the history of the game had survived with a 1o point deduction (the previous highest penalty), just to make it more difficult they didn't allow us to sign new players until days before the first match which led our manager of the time Dennis Wise to say the now famous words "Not only have the tied my hands behind my back they have cut off my Balls as well".
Well just to stick two fingers up to the authorities Leeds hit the track running backed with fanatical support the which this division has never seen 5 matches 5 wins quickly put us on zero points two matches later we were off the bottom of the table. The good form continued up to Christmas, no longer was the talk of relegation but whether we could actually win it.
However this is leeds United and its always a rollercoaster, our form slumped, then our chief Coach Gus Poyet was poached by Tottenham, Our captain got badly injured, then our Manager moved on, this could only happen to us.
In steps former midfield hero Gary MacAllister who had been out of management for a few years to face his own battle, nursing his wife through serious illness which finally took her life. Despite a shaky start under Macca slowly the confidence returned, players were performing again and eventually we managed to secure a play off spot.
Seasons review in pictures :-
Only one group of people have stood firm in all this and that is our supporters, many expected gates to slump but the reverse happend with the club smashing many attendance records throughout the season, 21 of 23 of our opponents recorded their biggest crowd of the season when Leeds came to town, Our home gates were the biggest outside the Premiership (and beat a lot of the Clubs there).
Following our last League match the players did a lap of honour to thank the fans for sticking by the Club :-
So 2 matches from a trip to Wembley and possible promotion, get to a TV to watch and support today (Sky Sports in the UK, Setanta elsewhere I believe), but remember its Leeds United anything could happen.

Home again
Then of course it was delayed 1 hour but I wasn't bothered cos I knew I'd a 7 hour stopover in Chicago so it would share out the waiting time. Actually we made half that time back on route to Chicago so was only 30 minutes late. I made my way across the Airport to the International terminal and was pleased to see although Chicago had a few delays my flight was on time.
I booked my luggage in and decided to go for a lunch of Philly Cheesesteak & Fries, followed by a visit to the bar for a few beers to wash it down.
I then had a look around a few airport shops before making my way through security, made my way to my gate, found a good seat and chilled out listening to music on my MP3 player. The time actually passed quickly and we started to board the plane on time 5.45pm (due ou 6.30pm), by 6.20pm most people seemed to be on board and I was pleased cos I had 2 seats to myself (a bit more room is always nice especially on an overnight flight when you want to try sleep).
Anyway just before they closed the doors a couple of late comers arrived, 1st a miserable looking bloke who I was pleased sat down a few rows in front of me, then a pretty young lady came along and yes she had the seat next to me. We said hello and she explained she had been visiting a friend in Louisville Kentucky which made me think of one of my online friends "Brandy" (Redneckgirl). She also told me she had been panicking cos her flight from Kentucky had been delayed over 2 hours, she was a little out of breath from running to catch this flight.
She seemed really nice and asked where I was from and I said as I do "near York" (not everyone as heard of Selby). She said "I'm from near York also but I live down south now" she then asked "where near York" so I told her "Selby". Unbelievably she grew up in a small village less than 3 miles from my home, neither of us could believe it, what a coincidence.
It also turned out she had left her car at her parents house so I had a companion all the way home cos she was catching the same train.
Things went a little wrong with the flight though our plane got in a queue to take off when another plane in front of us broke down so we were stuck on the tarmac at O'hare for 1.5hours but eventually they towed it away so we set off arriving one hour later than planned.
I grabbed my luggage but my lady friend had been called to the office as she expected her luggage hadn't been transferred in time so she had a form to fill in, they promised to get it to her in the next few days.
We dashed to the Station and lukily there was a train in, we caught it by 4 minutes, I actually got home at mid day which meant I'd been travelling just under 24 hours.
Of course I had planned a nice relaxing weekend but the Girls I used to work with contacted me and are planning a night out in York so I think I'll tag along, see how I go I may not stay too late and come home in the early Taxi if I tire (but who knows).

Getting Ready for Home
Tonight I'll just go out for meal and a couple of Beers at a local Pub then try to get an early night.
I've enjoyed this trip, but I seem to have been away such a long time (I suppose 17 nights is a long time).
Austin - I found as expected a lively Citywith loads of nightlife but not much to do during the day. Saying that the State Capitol Building is impressive to say the least. I also visited the Texas State History Museum which was interesting although I was dissapointed there wasn't more about the Alamo (was it cos they lost).
There are also loads of walking paths which I did most mornings however it got a bit hot in the afternoons so they were spent by the hotel Swimming Pool with a nice cool lemonade.
Nightlife everyone mentions East Sixth Street but to be honest it is now more for students, there are better bars & Clubs for us more mature people on West 4th & 5th Streets. There are Bars & Clubs all over the Downtown area in fact there arn't many shops don't think they had room for them
Kansas City - Its not been quite as hot which is good cos my hotel ain't got a Pool. I've enjoyed my stay but 7 nights is a long time here I suggest 5 would have been better.
The nightlife is centered around 3 areas "Country Club Plaza" which is a real plush area to the south of the City full of Shops, Bars & Restaurants, luckily in walking distance of my hotel.
Also in Walking distance in the other direction is Westport Road which is the historical district and is full of bars & clubs but really old one's.
The other are is in Downtown caller "Power & Light" this is a brand new area with loads of posh bars & restaurants, I think they have targetted a run down area and just rebuilt it. It is still expanding and is a fun place for a night out.
While talking nightlife I've seen some good live music but last night it was a bloke guitarist who could really play but the Girl singer he had with him was terrible never seen anyone on stage as bad she virtually emptied the place. She actually sang some stuff I liked but I didn't recognise the songs till half way through.
A lot of the daytime attractions are average to say the least with the exception of the World War One Museum which was fantastic a true history lesson. I spent over 3 hours there, its a must visit. However I had to have words with the staff as in one of the rooms they had the flags of all the countries involved flying from the wall. Well the Union Jack was there of course but upside down, I had to point it out and they promised to get it changed. So if anyone visits KC you must check for me, lol.
Tell more later my friends.

Still Away
Austin was very hot, in fact my chest is a bit pink from lazing by the Pool most afternoons. Its a real party atmosphere, live music everwhere, more venues than any other city in the world.
Got a few stories to tell later but will tell you this one for now, in fact I really wound some lads up. I was sat at a bar when four lads in their twenties came in and stood to my right, there was only two stools so wasn't really much room. They had obviously had a few to drink and a couple of them were been real assholes to everyone in the place.
Anyway they heard my accent asked where I was from so I told them England, now one started taking the p**s out of my accent. I told him he should be careful he doesn't know who I am.
Anyway he asked what I did so I told him I was a profesional hitman, he laughed at first but one of the more sensible ones started to quiz me. He asked questions like how I killed people so I told him it was upto the client, but if they choose it costs more.
The conversation went on a bit but I told them if I used my favorite method it was much cheaper. I couldn't believe a couple of them were really taking it all in.
Anyway they asked how I would do it so I told them "Easy I'd just slip a little tablet in their drink and they wouldn't even realise they had been got for 12 hours when I'd be well away from the scene"
The funny part was they all left the bar and didn't finish their drinks, Me and the lad working the bar (I'd winked to him earlier in the conversation so he was in on it) just cracked up laughing what numptys.
Basically everyone else I've met have been really nice just been in some real friendly places.
